Earth System Science Center and Department of Atmospheric Science at The University of Alabama in Huntsville

Christopher Phillips, left, and William Iwasco, both UAH graduate students in atmospheric science, mount an experimental weather station atop UAH’s SWIRLL building as a storm system approaches Tuesday afternoon. The low-cost station is the prototype for what could become a mobile network of instrument packages designed to gather environmental, climate and weather data over study areas for which detailed data is not otherwise available. This work is supported by a grant through UAH’s vice president for research.
